Fourth Year Reflections
To celebrate our graduating fourth-years, we wanted to leave everyone with some of their reflections on their time with VWC.
A Reflection from Emily Fox, Former VWC President:
I have absolutely loved being a part of VWC over the past four years! I truly found my home at UVA through this amazing sisterhood, and will always remember the laughs shared and music created in Old Cabell Hall. I'll miss singing with this group so much next year!
A Reflection from Satori Greene:
I am so grateful for the kindness of VWC!! All the women are so supportive of each other, and they make me feel confident and uplifted! I will always cherish movie nights at the chorus house and sharing stories on cookout runs.
A Reflection from Kayleigh Harris, Former VWC Vice President:
Being a part of the Virginia Women’s Chorus was such a blessing. When I joined my second semester at UVA I finally found my group and my closest friends. That first semester we went on our Northeast Tour, where I was able to quickly form strong bonds with all of the wonderful women in the group! Even now, in my last year, I’m living in the chorus house and having a great time despite all of the challenges of the pandemic. My chorus fam is the most special thing to me and I’ll miss being a goofy S2.
The Chorus also provided me with numerous opportunities to grow into myself and strengthen my confidence and leadership abilities. My second semester in Chorus, I jumped into the Pub Chair role and held that role for a year and a half until I became Vice President. Serving on Managing Board when the pandemic started brought its own struggles but also helped me get through the pandemic and showed me my own ability to persevere and lead. The Chorus has provided me with such an amazing community and helped me grow throughout my time at UVA, and I will truly miss singing and causing a ruckus during rehearsals twice a week!
