Letter from the Vice President: Julia Heinzel

Hello all!

As usual, the semester is flying by! Tour was amazing, and it was fantastic to see all of our lovely alums at the Connections Sing-Along. It’s wonderful for current and past Chorus members to connect, and especially to bond through our mutual love of singing and music.

Coming up this semester, the Chorus has some fundraisers planned by our lovely Fundraising Chair, Meagan. On March 24th, the Chorus will be having a fundraiser at the Impeccable Pig Downtown! This women’s clothing boutique Downtown has amazing clothing and accessories, or just to chat with the Women’s Chorus members who will be there. Come by from 6:00 - 8:00pm and shop to support the Chorus. Later in the semester, on April 9th, the Chorus will be having a fundraiser at Chipotle. Stop by from 5:00 - 9:00 pm to grab dinner and help the Chorus raise money!

The rest of the semester promises to be just as busy, as we have gigs coming up, and sisterhood events to wrap up the semester. This weekend, we have another one of our National Anthem gigs, this time however, we will be singing at the UVA Baseball Game.

Beyond the baseball game, the Women’s Chorus is proud to announce our involvement in John D’earth’s Jazz Concert this April. After we finish our wonderful spring concert on April 7th, the Women’s Chorus will be performing in the Jazz Ensemble’s concert on April 15th. We are incredibly excited to be expanding our repertoire to be singing jazz pieces, including some composed by UVA’s own John D’earth. The concert will be held on April 15th, at Old Cabell Hall. The ticket prices are $10 for the general public, $9 for UVA Faculty/Staff, and $5 for students. We are incredibly honored to be invited to sing at this event, and thank John D’earth for his invitation and this opportunity!
