Letter from the Alumnae Relations Chair: Mackenna Gordon
Hello! My name is Mackenna Gordon, and I am thrilled to be the Alumnae Relations chair for 2020! The Virginia Women’s Chorus is busy preparing our repertoire for the 45th Anniversary Weekend concert, which will be here before we know it! I am so excited to see that many alumnae have already RSVP’d to our Anniversary Weekend events, and I hope that more of you will decide to join us in beautiful Charlottesville from April 17th-19th. In addition to sharing in song, we have several fun events planned for the weekend, including a wine and cheese reception on Friday night, a special dinner at the Inn at Darden accompanied by a slideshow on Saturday, and brunch at the Colonnade Club on Sunday morning. If you missed the official invitation and info regarding Anniversary Weekend, you can still access the form to RSVP by clicking this link. If you have RSVP’d, make sure that you have paid for registration on our square site! Please remember that the deadline to RSVP is March 25th! This is a firm deadline for some of our additional events, but we will have extra music available if you miss the deadline and would still like to come join us for the weekend. We cannot wait to see and sing with you all!

We are also looking forward to singing with a few of our alumnae this coming weekend when we travel to Northern Virginia for our rehearsal weekend. Alumnae are welcome to join us from 12:30 until 2:40 as we sing through our Anniversary Weekend repertoire! This is a rare opportunity for alumnae to sing with current chorus members before April. Additionally, alumnae are welcome to gather at Artie’s for food and sisterhood following the rehearsal. Please make sure that you indicate that you are planning on joining us on Saturday, February 29th when you RSVP to Anniversary Weekend or by filling out this form. We want to be sure that we are bringing enough music for everyone who is planning on singing with us.
