Fundraising Updates
Hello Alumnae and Friends of the Chorus!
We have had a busy start to the semester with auditions and the start of rehearsals and are very excited for this semester! We just wanted to take the time to update you on the results of last October’s Annual Fund Drive and to thank those of you who donated for your generous support of the Chorus! Overall, we were able to raise more than $16,000 from the Annual Fund Drive alone, and over $25,000 total in 2018. This will allow us to purchase sheet music, pay our professional director, rent concert spaces, and cover many other expenses. We are so thankful to have such generous donors, and we could not continue to make beautiful music without our supporters! If you would like to donate to the chorus, please click here!
For the spring semester, the Chorus is planning a video to raise awareness for Giving to Hoos Day on April 9th, 2019. Giving to Hoos Day is a 24 hour donation period in which alumni and friends of the University are encouraged to donate what they can to further all of the undergraduate and graduate schools at the University, as well as the CIOs and other extracurriculars. Look for our informational video soon!
Additionally this semester, fundraising for the Chorus will be focused on our 45th Annual Spring Concert. We are planning on selling flowers at the concerts in honor of our featured song “Bluebells” by Ola Gjeilo. As usual, we are also selling ad spots for the concert program. These should be submitted by March 25th. If you would like to purchase an ad and help the chorus, you can email either your formatted design or just your message (which we can format) to our Fundraising Chair, Sarah Combs, at vwcfundraisingchair@gmail.com. We accept cash and check payments, or you can Venmo the Chorus at @VW-Chorus. Checks can be made payable to the Virginia Women’s Chorus and sent to:
